Young, 82, of Rock Falls, joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 7:30pm, at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling, with her loved ones by her side. Joan was born August 10, 1943, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Erich and Naomi (Clark) Hofer. She received her degree in art and home economics. She was a member of Rockford Art Institute. Joan was united in marriage with Cecil B. Young on New Years Eve, December 31, 1964. She is the beloved mother of Amanda (Edward) Fortune, Robert A. Young, and Donald J. Lindsley. Joan was a long-time jeweler and antique collector. She loved to travel the country. Joan was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. She gave her time to Helping Hands Food Pantry and was known for helping those in need. She would open her door to everyone and will be sorely missed by so many.
