Marilyn Kay (Cobert) Troy, 79, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on July 31, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Kay was born on January 26, 1945 to Harry and Sybil Bridgewater Hennel in Carrollton, IL. She was raised in East Moline, IL. On April 1, 1961, Kay married Robert F. Cobert in Moline, IL. Bob and Kay went on to have three children; Steven Lee, Robert Dwane, and Teri Lynn.
The Cobert family moved to Erie, IL in 1973 to begin operating an auto body shop for many years. After raising their family and the children went their different ways, Bob and Kay moved to West Palm Beach in 1990 to enjoy year round balmy weather. In 2001 her husband, Bob, succumbed to a yearlong battle with cancer. In 2003, Kay retired from Motorola Quality Control on the Razor cellular phone line in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She then returned to the working world in the security field at a horse training facility and Palm Beach County Courthouse. In 2009 she married Edmund Troy in WPB, FL.
