Mary was born on October 4, 1935 in Genesee Township, Whiteside County, the daughter of James and Gladys (Musselman) Mathis. She married Robert Oberg on June 26, 1954 in Sterling. He preceded her on May 9, 1991. She enjoyed music, reading, cross stitching, crocheting, word puzzles and her weekly jaunts to Wendy's for lunch and window shopping with her sister, Linda. She cherished the friendships she made over the years at the Century Oaks Assisted and Independent Living community and the smiles shared during her unique and memorable piano playing or her choice of costumes during Halloween each year.
