John E. White Born: September 18, 1943 Died: June 24, 2024 John E. White, 80 of Sterling died Monday June 24, 2024 at Rock River Hospice & Home. He was born on September 18, 1943 in Sterling the son of John Maxell and Florence Lucille (Gordon) White. He served in the US Marie Corp Cpl –E-4 during the Vietnam War. John worked for over 30 years at National Manufacturing in Sterling. He later worked for Pete Dillon, P.J's Bar and Crystal Lake Slots. John was a member of the Sterling American Legion Post 296. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events. He liked to play slots with his friend Buck. Survivors include his daughters: Christina Wade, Sabrina Russell, Melissa (Brad) Folkers and Shauna (Phil) Hubbard; his sisters: June Norman and Judy Ostrander; grandchildren: Caitlyn, Paige, Dylan, Rhyan, Aaron, Jamie, Tracie, Bronson, Kelsie, Brentin, Victoria, James, Mackenzie and Austin; 23 great grandchildren; and special friend, Kim Buckingham.
