Lena was born on December 25, 1927, in Marshfield, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew "Jack" and Malissie Cook. She married William "Bill" Petty on December 15,1945. She worked and retired from General Electric after working there for over 24 years. She enjoyed being around her family, working out in the garden, baking, and traveling in the RV visiting relatives. Survivors include her two sons, Jim (Laura) Petty, and Rick (Roxanne) Petty, all of Rock Falls; eight grandchildren, Wesley Petty, Michael (Janice) Petty, Kelley (Andy) Upham, Matthew (Nicole) Petty, Joshua (Lindsay) Petty, Samantha Petty (Jay Seeley), Misty (Scott) Piehn, and Colleen Petty; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
